CAMPE 21st General Assembly
Every year, CAMPE members await the General Assembly. It is during the General Assembly where members find out the growth of all the business units and their personal cash and stock shares.
This year, the Cooperative of Allegro Microsystems Phils Employees (CAMPE) held its 21st General Assembly in AMPI Canteen area last March 6, 2012. A short program preceded the tallying of the electronic-election votes covering March 4-6 and the pronouncement of the newly elected Board of Directors.
Mr. Armand Cabacungan and Ms. Jonah Garay were the program masters. To warm up the members, a Trivia contest was led by Shuttle Operations Manager, Boy Manosca. Ten members who came in early actively answered the trivia contest and received Coop Shop products as rewards. Those who wore Coop polo shirt also received an extra reward.
The G.A. formally opened with an invocation by Mr. Rosauro Endiafe. Video of our National Anthem was then played after. A brief opening remark was delivered by the General Manager of CAMPE, Mr Ferdinand Caraballe. A talented singer-member, Mr. Eljun Servancia, wowed the crowd in his rendition of the song entitled “Huwag ka lang Mawawala”.
Mr. Francisco N. Meroy, Chairman of the Board, then delivered his report on CAMPE’s business performance in 2011 and plans for 2012. Highlights of the report was the increase in Net Surplus to 15 Million in 2011 which was a 15% increase compared to 2010; increase in dividends to 13.5 Million; and increase in Assets to 193 Million. Members were delighted on the highest surplus gained in 2011. In the last ten years, the business performance and growth doubled compared to the first ten years from the time the cooperative started in 1991. The chairman also discussed the plans of expanding the business of canteen and general services outside of Allegro community, and the possibility of spinning-off a subsidiary.
After which, another song number was performed by another talented member, Mr July Anagap. The most awaited part of the program was the canvassing of votes. Results of which are as follows:
Rank and File - Cathy Fania
Section Head - Armand Cabacungan and Jun Villa
Manager - Romeo Castro
The event ended with a proclamation of the newly elected board of directors.
With this year’s successful program results, CAMPE members again are looking forward to next year’s General Assembly.
